Dr. Tatiana Emanuel is a physician associate, academic leader, and health system executive with more than a decade of experience advancing clinical practice, education, and workforce strategy within large academic health systems. She earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from UT Health San Antonio and a Doctor of Medical Science from Lynchburg University, with additional training in nursing and economics shaping her perspective on organizational design, resource stewardship, and sustainable growth.
Her clinical foundation is in Emergency Medicine, where she practiced in high-acuity environments and led pragmatic improvements in care delivery and access for underserved populations. In parallel, Dr. Emanuel served in state-level disaster medicine role with the Texas Emergency Medical Task Force, deploying to resource-limited communities during public health emergencies and natural disasters. These experiences required rapid decision-making, cross-disciplinary coordination, and the ability to build workable solutions when standard systems were unavailable—skills that continue to inform her leadership approach.
In academic medicine, Dr. Emanuel has contributed to education, mentorship, research, national, and international presentations and currently holds the academic rank of Associate Professor at the University of Colorado. Her work has been recognized through multiple state and national awards for clinical excellence, education, and leadership, reflecting sustained impact.
Dr. Emanuel serves as Director of the Office of Advanced Practice at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in partnership with University of Colorado Hospital, where she provides strategic oversight for a large, multidisciplinary advanced practice workforce over 900 advanced practice clinicians across multiple service lines. Her leadership focuses on workforce integration, governance, leadership development, and aligning people, practice, and strategy to support high-performing clinical systems and the next generation of healthcare leaders.
